Position Overview:
We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team for an Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center (ICSC) opening in June. The ideal candidate will be passionate about integrated healthcare and committed to providing exceptional care to our patients. As a practitioner at our clinic, you will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with mental health concerns.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Psychiatric evaluations, including the assessment of psychiatric, medical and psychosocial history.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, prescribing psychotropic medications, and adjusting dosages based on patient response and clinical guidelines.
- Provide immediate intervention for individuals in crisis, de-escalating situations and ensuring recipient safety while stabilizing symptoms.
- Provide recipients and their families with education about mental health, treatment options, medication adherence and coping strategies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, social workers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care for recipients, including planning for discharge and follow-up care.
- Participating in treatment and recovery team meetings to address needs of high-risk recipients.
- Offer expertise and support in managing psychiatric emergencies and assisting staff in handling complex psychiatric situations.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EHR.
- Respond promptly to emergent situations, proving telephonic or in person assessments, medication management and clinical guidance to staff and recipients during crisis situations.
- PNP will be required to be on call during designated hours to provide psychiatric evaluation and crisis intervention support as needed.
Experience
- A Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is required.
- Previous experience in crisis care preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
