CHAMPRO is a growing branded manufacturer & distributor of team sports equipment and apparel. We are privately owned and have been delivering high-value, traditional & innovative athletic equipment and apparel via outstanding, integrity-driven customer service for thirty-five years. We currently have an immediate opening for a Operations Manager in our 200,000 square foot distribution center, located in Bannockburn, Illinois.
Position :
The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, staff supervision, and compliance with safety standards. This role ensures operational efficiency, optimal productivity, and adherence to quality standards, supporting the organization's overall goals and objectives. The Warehouse Operations Manager also provides leadership, motivation, training, and developing of the team while also driving continuous improvement and optimization of operation.
Your Role :
Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping products.
Lead, train, and supervise a team of warehouse employees and supervisors, including assigning duties, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes, systems, and workflows to ensure timely order fulfillment and accuracy.
Coordinate inventory management, ensuring products are stocked, organized, and accurately inventoried at all times.
Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels and resolve discrepancies or shortages daily.
Collaborate with other departments (such as quality control, sales, and customer service) to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Enforce strict safety guidelines to ensure the safe handling of materials and compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
Manage the scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments to optimize space and reduce delays.
Analyze warehouse data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare reports for senior management regarding operational efficiency and improvements.
Ensure the proper maintenance and cleaning of warehouse equipment and facilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues or bottlenecks that may arise.
Previous experience in cross departmental project management preferred.
Ability to lead picking teams leveraging robotics.
5’s and Lean Ideology experience preferred.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse operations, implementing best practices and fostering a culture of efficiency and teamwork.
Ability to lead through key account initiatives.
Work Experience :
5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Understanding of shipping logistics preferred
Previous experience in a Distribution Facility a plus
Prioritization and problem-solving skills essential
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to effectively interact with CHAMPRO customers and teammates
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and data entry software
Previous SAP / WMS / RF or related experience is preferred
OSHA certification or familiarity with workplace safety regulations is a plus
Must have ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment
Flexibility to cover any shifts as needed
Stand-up / sit-down forklift experience with certification a must
Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
Physical Demands and Work Environment :
Work may involve physical activities such as lifting, standing, and operating warehouse equipment
Exposure to varying warehouse temperatures and environments
May require occasional extended hours or weekend shifts
