What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of the Child and Adult Care Food Program position at Chances And Services for Youth?
The Director of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) supervises all aspects of the CACFP. The Director provides supervision for CACFP staff and ensures CACFP compliance on all levels. This position is full time, salaried, with a flexible schedule and supervised by the CASY CEO.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, Nutrition, Business or related field with relevant experience
- Experience in program management compliance
- Experience in supervising personnel preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Computer skills and database experience
- Willing to travel and have reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Experience in planning and conducting trainings preferred
- Experience in Child Care rules and regulations and knowledge of the CACFP preferred
Job duties and functions include but are not limited to:
Non-Monitoring-Related Activities (These activities represent approximately 70% of the duties performed by the Director of the CACFP.):
CACFP Facility Eligibility
- Conduct CACFP provider enrollment session’s training and contract signing
- Determine tiering eligibility of enrolled CACFP provider
- Ensure enrolled CACFP sites compliance with CACFP rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Initial and Annual CACFP Training
- Schedule annual CACFP trainings
- Plan, organize, conduct annual CACFP trainings
- Ensure enrolled providers meet annual CACFP training requirements
- Train new CACFP staff on all aspects of the CACFP
- Maintain continuing education of CACFP staff on all aspects of the CACFP
- Maintain annual documentation of enrolled CACFP providers and staff training
- Offer CACFP providers individual technical assistance as needed
CACFP Monthly Claims
- Oversee the processing of providers’ monthly CACFP claims
- Review processed claim statements, notify providers and/or adjust claims as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of monthly CACFP claims to IDOE database
- Ensure accurate and timely CACFP claim provider payments by creating Direct Deposit payment files as needed file
- Notify CACFP providers of direct deposit payments as needed
Enrollment Forms
- Supervise processing of CACFP child enrollment forms
- Ensure CACFP child enrollment forms are complete
- Maintain CACFP child enrollment forms file
- Determine child Tier 1 eligibility as needed
- Conduct annual CACFP child enrollment renewal process
Program Outreach
- Participate in community events to promote CASY Food Program
- Plan to retain current CACFP providers
- Recruit non-participating providers within IDOE recruitment guidelines
Database Operations
- Maintain KidKare Database
- Ensure accuracy of KidKare data
Monitoring-Related Activities (These activities represent approximately 30% of the duties performed by the Director of the CACFP.):
Monitoring
- Supervise CACFP staff in their CACFP monitoring related duties
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with USDA and IDOE monitor review requirements
- Schedule and conduct CACFP monitor reviews
- Determine proper actions for CACFP providers found not in compliance during monitor reviews
- Supervise processing and filing of completed monitor reviews
On-Site Training
- Provide as needed training/technical assistance to providers at monitor reviews, document and follow up as needed
- Train CACFP staff regarding monitor review requirements and procedures
Claims Processing
- Supervise claim processing in regard to menus and meal eligibility
- Review CACFP claim reports for menus and meal eligibility compliance
Parental Contacts
- Conduct random and as needed parent contact audits throughout the fiscal year
- Oversee the parent audit procedure
- Review returned parent audit information for compliance, conduct follow up action for findings of non-compliance
Director of CACFP Other Duties:
- Maintain communication with IDOE CACFP staff
- Attend IDOE required trainings
- Attend bi-monthly Indiana Sponsor Association meetings
- Supervise maintenance of CACFP database and files
- Assist CASY Bookkeeper and CEO with audit information as needed
- Supervise and evaluate CACFP staff and interns
- Order CACFP supplies and materials as needed
- Attend CACFP conferences and trainings as required
- Assist in agency publicity, presentations, etc. as needed
- Attend CASY functions, conferences, workshops as required
- Be a team player and be willing to assist with any CASY programs as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
