Role Description
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote role, and it will initially be structured as an independent contractor role with the option to convert to a full-time employee after 3 months.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role is crucial for supporting the financial health of our rapidly growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and intercompany accounts.
- Reconcile accounts and prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial procedures and streamline financial processing.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Provide support during audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred).
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficient in Quickbooks Online and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a remote setting.
- Familiarity with project-based budgeting and accounting is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
