What are the responsibilities and job description for the Victim Advocate/Shelter Tech: Part Time Weekends only position at Change Is Possible (CHIPS) Family Violence Shelter?
Domestic Violence Shelter Tech
Hours: Saturday and Sunday only 2pm-10pm and Rotating crisis line.
Experience in the domestic violence or social work field are strongly preferred.
Must have a valid TN driver's license and have a good driving record.
Must pass a background/ drug screening.
Duties are as follows:
- Keep all client and shelter information confidential
- Provide trauma informed direct services to victims of domestic violence
- Responsible for organization of supplies for shelter
- Adhere to health and safety protocols
- Take the hotline on a rotating basis and answer crisis calls
- Record and complete documentation of all crisis calls
- Assist in processing new shelter residents in compliance with policies and procedures
- Transport clients as needed
- Supervise the maintenance and upkeep of shelter to ensure a safe environment. Cleaning and lifting an average of 15 pounds to include carrying supplies upstairs is required
- Assist with and participate in agency events, as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
- The candidate will work well in a team setting, be self motivated and organized.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel and have basic computer skills.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour

- On call
- Weekends only
