Channel Impact is seeking an experienced Event Strategist to join our events team. In this role, you will focus on event portfolio planning, event experience design and ongoing portfolio management for the Global Events Team. The ideal candidate is someone who is skilled in event marketing and strategy.
This is a full-time salaried position with benefits for a remote worker within the United States.
What you will be doing:
Event portfolio planning:
Assist in developing an event portfolio that ensures we are taking the most strategic approach to our event marketing investments. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain deep understanding of the client’s business and marketing goals
- Become an embedded member of our stakeholder teams
- Support in the development of our Marquee and Industry Event (MIE) strategy and plan that is strongly aligned with business/marketing priorities
- Create robust recommendations, putting the program through multiple event selection criteria filters
- Define the right level of participation for each event and lead the contracting process for your given events
- Look for ways to maximize our marketing spend, including identifying cross leverage opportunities
- Establish and nurture relationships with our event producers and manage event re-sign process
Event Experience Design:
Once we’ve defined the right mix of events, you'll lead building the strategic blueprint for the program at the event level. Responsibilities include:
- Establishing goals and measurable objectives
- Identifying our target audience and their key careabouts
- Define the impact we need to have with our audience targets
- Developing the high-level messaging framework for the event
- Defining the pre-, during and post-event customer journey touchpoints that best map back to our goals and objectives
- Development of event measurement framework that tie back to key success measures that are important to our client's marketing
- Ongoing consultation during planning as a member of the Global Customers Event Team, working closely with the Program Lead and Audience Engagement Lead
Event Portfolio Management and Nurturing:
The event portfolio requires ongoing support throughout the year to ensure that we’re taking the most thoughtful approach to our event investments. Responsibilities include:
- Onsite event audits
- Industry trends and best practices
- Performance management and reporting
- Ongoing event producer outreach and relationship management
- Competitive and partner analysis
- Acquisition integration if applicable
What you bring:
- 8 years of experience in strategy, experiential marketing, planning, marketing or digital strategy and strong familiarity with both in-person and digital event experiences. (Required)
- You are a problem-solver and idea-generator
- You have a strong ability to manage and influence key stakeholders
- You understand the importance of relationship building and nurturing within our Global Events, multi-agency and stakeholder communities, fully embracing the concept of ‘one team’
- You are a strong facilitator and storyteller, with the ability to engage and influence across all job levels within the organization.
- You understand the importance of delivering measurable impacts, leveraging data to help drive fact-based decision making
- You bring a wealth of industry trends and knowledge to the team, and are passionate about staying on top of future trends
- You have a positive approach, collaborative mindset and proactively contribute your own ideas
- Proven ability to think strategically, communicate clearly, think conceptually, deal with ambiguity, drive clarity for the team and work under pressure
- Strong written communication and presentation skills, executive presence, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with cross-departmental stakeholders
- Ability to drive and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
