What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer position at Channel Personnel Services?
Ø Lead the development of electrical power load studies.
Ø Lead the development of comprehensive electrical power construction packages sufficient to be stamped by a Professional Engineer and submitted for authority plan check.
Ø Lead the development of comprehensive electrical power specifications associated with company electrical power construction packages.
Ø Lead the development of electrical power bills of material and coordinate with vendors for procured equipment pricing.
Ø Execute field verification walkdowns, including as-building existing Electrical and E&I infrastructure.
Ø Execute factory acceptance testing on electrical power equipment.
Ø Execute start-up and commissioning, including electrical power and E&I troubleshooting as required.
Ø Provide the best possible response after-hours support for internal/external clients as occurs.
Ø Work with applicable Project Manager(s) to ensure overall quality of commercial deliverables, budget maintenance, etc. Keep the Project Manager(s) informed of technical progress, issues, need for change orders, etc.
Ø Assist Project Manager(s) in developing cost estimates and proposals for new project opportunities – providing technical expertise and guidance in applying cost to labor, expense, and procurement items.
Ø Travel /- 25% with willingness to travel via air.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
v Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam Completion
v 5 years’ experience in the development of comprehensive electrical construction and specification packages suitable to be stamped by
Professional Engineer and submitted for authority plan check, comprised of at least the following:
§ Load studies
§ Single line diagrams
§ Plot plan & area/building detail diagrams
§ Lighting
§ Grounding
§ Conduit and cable schedules
§ Construction specifications
§ Equipment and installation details
v Additional experience in the following drawings preferred:
§ Area classification drawings
§ Motor/breaker schematics and wiring diagrams.
§ Lightning Protection
v Knowledgeable of the requirements detailed in National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE 3000 Series (formerly known as color books), and API 500 (preferred)
v Adept at the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
v Experience with power system modeling tools – ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower preferred.
v Experience with electrical power relay settings generation and implementation – GE Multilin and SEL preferred.
v Highly effective at written and verbal communications
