What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Manager position at Channel Personnel Services?
Ø Responsible for ensuring the safe operation of each of the local facilities. Accountable for meeting fixed, variable, and capital budget goals.
Ø Works with the Maintenance and Reliability teams to ensure that the operating units meet their reliability targets.
Ø Ensures that each facility maintains compliance with all required governmental regulations.
Ø Will meet regularly with the facility’s host customer to provide updates on operational activities.
Ø Each facility operates and maintains equipment such as product dryers, product compression, off gas compression, etc.
Ø There will be approximately 8 employees supporting the operations, maintenance, and engineering activities.
Ø Ensure employees are fully trained in, committed to, and conduct their activities in accordance with all aspects of Safety and Quality systems.
Ø Leads reliability, compliance, quality and safety programs for assigned areas; ensures required government and/or environmental regulations are met.
Ø Accountable for continuously working to reduce plant operating costs through the incorporation of Operational Excellence strategies.
Ø Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and senior management's direction related to the business plan.
Ø Monitors production/manpower levels to ensure continued efficiency while anticipating problems and assisting with developing contingencies.
Ø Manage employee performance by setting expectations, providing guidance, feedback, and development for career progression and performance improvement.
Ø Maximizing reliability to avoid unscheduled shutdowns resulting in interruption of supply to customers.
Ø Driving improvements in productivity and cost savings.
Ø Driving improvement in the safety culture at the facilities.
Ø Ensuring that each facility completes compliance related items (PHA, RCA, etc.) in a timely manner.
Ø Effectively working within the matrix organization to enlist assistance from support groups.
Ø Accountability for adhering to all Corporate and plant policies including OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and TCEQ air, water, and waste regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an industrial plant environment including production, distribution, safety, and/or plant maintenance required.
v 5 years directly managing and developing employees required with demonstrated results. BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
v Knowledge of Process Safety Management standards and procedures governing safe operation of EPA RMP and PSM covered facilities. Six Sigma or Lean experience preferred.
