What are the responsibilities and job description for the Partner Management Director position at Channel | Your Partner in Funding?
The Partner Management Director will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer and will play an integral role in optimal Partner performance (source risk) through initial and ongoing review of key risk components across the company. This position will collaborate and coordinate with the underwriting leaders in each business unit on business activity and results. This person will also monitor exposure and the ongoing performance of established programs and partner and vendor relationships; assessing actual versus expected results. This person will also play a key role in Suspicious Activity and Fraud monitoring, identification of key learnings, and training support to help mitigate avoidable risks. Key Tasks
- Monitor source risk for new and existing partners across all business units
- Partner onboarding and surveillance of activity to identify trends, efficiencies, and risks
- Ensure program creation is in adherence with company policies and risk appetite while existing activity meets set expectations.
- Initial and ongoing review of suppliers (activity, exposure, performance) to recommend action based on quality and results
- Collaborate on Deal Review (post-mortems) with underwriting leaders to identify process improvements and source trends
- Provide strategic vision and direction for the partner management function, including building and managing additional personnel as applicable
- Professionally communicate quantified concerns regarding partner or program performance
- Support relationships and offer exceptional service to our internal partners
- Work to protect the Company from fraud through monitoring and review mechanisms
- Keep abreast of industry and competitor trends
- Provide support and guidance on new and evolving program offerings
- Prepare periodic reviews and findings for recommendations on partners/programs for Leadership
Skills and Specifications
- Proven track record of success in credit/source underwriting
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task, including moving back and forth between strategic initiatives and task/tactical workstreams
- Excellent organization and industry outreach ability
- Familiarity with business reporting – DandB, PayNet, and Experian business reports
- Expert working knowledge of underwriting third-party and dealer-originated products preferred
- Previous process management experience with an equipment finance lender
- Ability to lead and manage a small team
Education and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with an expert-level understanding of credit and underwriting operations, including familiarity with scoring models and rules-based decision engines
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant financial field or equivalent work experience
- Experience in or understanding of equipment leasing and financing business models in the small-ticket business segment preferred
- Working knowledge of financial statement analysis preferred
- Management experience preferred, with a track record of leading a team to achieve departmental functions and duties
