Health Information Technician

Salary:

$21.00- $24.45, depending on experience!

Health Information Technicians

• Processes and scans all patient health information into the electronic patient health record, ensuring it is placed into the correct folder and is labeled using a standard naming convention.
• Reviews records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with policies to ensure adherence to standards or regulations.
• Ensures patient health records are retrieved for providers and departments in a timely manner as needed for patient care, auditing and other purposes.
• Answers incoming calls in a timely and polite manner; responds or takes messages based on caller needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or GED certificate/equivalent.
• Applied knowledge using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Accredited Registered Health Information Technician certification.
• Experience with eClinicalWorks, or Electronic Health Record systems.
• Experience working in healthcare
