What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance and Grounds Technician position at Chapel Hill Church?
Provide basic maintenance and grounds support on a 34.17-acre church campus. Assist and work closely with the Assistant Facilities Manager to meet the mission and goals of the church, ensure the delivery of high-quality, hands-on, hospitality-based maintenance and grounds services.
Maintenance The Maintenance and Grounds Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Completes daily work orders and performs maintenance and repairs as assigned: * HVAC maintenance, repair, upgrade & installation * Plumbing and electrical systems * Carpentry (cabinet, furniture, laminates, misc. repair) * Basic remodeling projects (hang sheet rock, mud and tape) * Painting – interior or exterior * Roof, rain gutter and drain maintenance * Parking lot and grounds – assist groundskeeper, minor repair as needed * Lighting, re-lamping, repair, upgrade & installation * Intrusion alarm and Fire alarm systems * Snow removal/ice melt application * Basic vehicle/fleet maintenance * Special projects (including construction, remodeling) as assigned * Utilize work order system to manage daily reactive and proactive maintenance work * Assist with implementation of safety standards, testing and appropriate documentation * Assists with special set-ups as needed * Operates equipment in a safe manner; reports and corrects safety hazards * Attendance at weekly staff meetings * Other duties as assigned
Grounds * Based on landscape schedule and special needs, work with little supervision to perform landscape duties. Areas of responsibility may include: * Lawn mowing and trimming * Weeding * Operation and maintenance of irrigation systems Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church | Page 2 of 2 * Blowing/sweeping sidewalks/parking lots * Tree and plant maintenance * Hauling debris * General grounds maintenance * Snow & Ice removal
Other * Respond to off-hour emergencies as needed: * Meet cell phone accessibility per policy * Respond to Inclement Weather emergencies * Respond to building emergencies as needed
