Job Purpose
The Shipping and Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's shipping and receiving operations and managing the staff in this area. This role involves coordinating with other departments to address shipping requirements and monitoring the overall processes. Additionally, the manager implements new technologies and tools to ensure compliance with government regulations and safety standards.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Create shipping labels and ensure proper packaging of items.
- Provide shipping freight quotes for new lease customers, rentals, and various locations.
- Accurately maintain schedules, quality standards, and shipping/receiving records. Supply tracking information to the relevant departments.
- Lead a team by providing clear direction, training, and motivation to meet operational goals.
- Prepare customs documentation for international shipments.
- Prepare dangerous goods for shipping.
- File paperwork for returns and take photos of all returns and shipments for serialized equipment being shipped. Maintain the photos for future reference.
- Unpack returned equipment and inspect for any visual damage. Contact necessary departments for any issues.
- Prepare dolly accessories and assess the lease condition.
- Manage ordering and provide purchase orders (POs) through ERP software for shipping supplies to vendors.
- Coordinate customer requirements with other department managers regarding special delivery requests.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement projects.
- Create and execute cost-saving plans that align with company goals within the department.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employees in solving issues.
- Initiate and motivate associates to achieve work goals.
- Interpret company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations.
- Communicate specifications and job orders to workers and assign duties accordingly.
- Facilitate and implement measures to enhance methods, performance, and supply quality. Continuously assess technology for areas of efficiency and safety.

Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant management experience is preferred.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software.

- Bilingual proficiency with English and Spanish is preferred
Working conditions
This job will be working in a manufacturing shop environment, which deals with multiple projects at a time. Dealing with chemicals, metal, loud sounds, and hot temperatures. Must be able to perform multiple tasks at one time and be able to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment, with efficiency and safety.
Physical requirements
This job is physically demanding. Able to tolerate prolonged periods of standing, stooping, and crawling. You must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing. You must be able to do repetitive tasks with limited breaks such as walking, climbing, emailing, and use of the phone. You must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

This position will have shipping employees directly reporting to them.
