What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Security Dispatcher position at Charcuterie Artisans?
Provides Security and Safety for designated property and personnel; observes reports and documents normal activities, irregularities and incident activities; provides emergency response; provides access control to include processing of vehicles and personnel; Monitors and administers security devices (i.e. badging systems, CCTV, etc…)
Primary Functions
- Provides effective access control to the property entrances including vehicle entrances and personnel entrances
- Challenge’s personnel who do not have proper access
- Processes visitors, guests, and vendors
- Operates access control gates remotely
- Monitors the facility using closed circuit television
- Monitors access control system devices and conducts basic troubleshooting
- Prevents unauthorized access
- Control’s parking of the property as required
- Makes notifications per established procedures
- Maintains effective communications during normal duties and during incidents
- Checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, and unauthorized persons
- Monitors and administers security devices (i.e., badging systems, CCTV, etc.…)
- Prepares logs or reports as required for patrol route; writes or types reports or enters information in a computer using standard grammar; inspects security control logs and acts as required.
- Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to supervisors, company management, life/safety personnel or public safety authorities as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required.
- Provides investigative support
- Handles confidential information
- Monitors and verifies property removal from facility
- Answering Phones; Operate IP based telephone system
- Operating radio; use multi-channel communications
- Utilize closed circuit television for situational awareness, threat management, and investigative purposes
- Operations support, routing of call information to the appropriate units for action
- Following response protocols in a timely manner in regard to incidents, alarms, notifications, calls and other activities related to its role as a Security control center.
- Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from employees, outside vendors, law enforcement, and the security team via telephone, automated alarm monitoring and radio systems
- Ensure all systems, both hardware and software, are functioning properly
- Process and evaluate information received from all available sources, and respond with the appropriate communication and dispatch procedures
- Perform key access control functions, and running access control reports
- Perform other related duties as required
Education
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
Experience
- Preferably two (2) years of physical security experience or.
- Six (6) months physical security experience in a manufacturing environment or.
- One (1) year in a law enforcement related field or.
- One (1) year in the armed forces
- Education can supplement experience under the following conditions:
- College credits must be in the field of Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, Management, Human Relations, Information Technology, Psychology, Sociology or Business
- College credits in related field shall be accepted as a supplement for experience using a calculation of twelve (12) credits being equal to six (6) months of experience

- Must have strong customer service skills
- Must be able to read and comprehend regulations, correspondence, instructions, rules, and regulations as well as fill out forms and write reports

- Should be well poised, converse in written and spoken English and can communicate intelligently
- Must have a government-issued motor vehicle operator license or proper government issued identification
- Preferred experience in access control software
- Preferred experience in closed circuit television software
Working Conditions
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time to include climbing of stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
- Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, clients, staff, and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
- Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey.
- Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Handling and being exposed to sensitive and confidential information.
