The Accounts Receivable Analyst role is a highly visible and impactful role that is pivotal in researching and reconciling customer disputes, payments, credits, invoices, and contracts to maintain accurate account balances and recover payments for invalid short payments. The Accounts Receivable Analyst is responsible for the daily allocation of incoming funds (ACH/Wire and Checks) from multiple banks, the timely issuance of credit memos, extensive use of customer portals, and cross-functional collaboration to resolve disputes and perform root cause analysis. This position has a high level of interaction with senior and executive management as well as internal and external business partners.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Daily allocation of incoming funds (ACH/Wire and Checks) Identify invalid deductions and collaborate with appropriate account owner to resolve in a timely manner.
- Create and process credits and adjustments as needed.
- For assigned customers, use critical thinking skills to resolve open deductions and disputed items based on research results and analytical skills.
- Collaborate with customer service, sales, finance team members and/or management to resolve billing issues.
- Provide weekly update of account status and deduction resolution to Senior Management
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of all receivable transactions.
- Compile and organize documentation and reports to support internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with Team Members to maintain shared Inbox.
- Assist in areas outside of core responsibilities, including leading or participating in special projects.
- Identify and recommend improvement ideas and work through, to resolution, as appropriate.
- Assist with Month End/Year End Close as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Proven experience in accounts receivable, collections, and deduction resolution for Consumer Goods company with multiple channels of distribution including Retail Grocery, Clubs, and Walmart.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and people skills.
- Customer Service focused.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, PowerPoint) and intermediate Excel skills
- Ability to work with limited supervision in a results-oriented environment with weekly targets and goals.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on data.
- Positive team player and collaborator.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience with mid-size or bigger companies.
