What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Alternative Education position at CHAREM ISD and our local districts?
POSITION:
Alternative Education Teacher at Lakeview Academy
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years, successful teaching experience at the secondary level
- Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsements in grades 6-12
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons, using various instructional strategies, and adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation and fosters critical thinking
- Design and/or administer various assessments, such as tests, quizzes, projects to continually assess students’ skills and progress toward learning goals
- Establish clear rules and expectations, enforce discipline fairly, and promote a positive and respectful atmosphere
- Demonstrate care, respect, and understanding in order to create a supportive and trusting environment
- Maintain open and transparent communication with student, parents, and other stakeholders
- Supervise and mentor teacher assistants
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars in order to convey and/or gather information required of position, acquire professional knowledge, and learn of current developments in the field
- Demonstrate predictable, reliable, and punctual attendance
- Other responsibilities as assigned
