What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Internship position at Chariton Valley?
Chariton Valley is looking for a part-time, temporary Operations Intern. Following our mission, Keeping You Connected, Chariton Valley has provided state-of-the-art communication solutions to businesses and residents in Northeast Missouri for over 70 years.
The general work week is 40 hours, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with optional evening hours to observe after-hours service-window work, which is common in telecommunications. The internship will last approximately 10-12 weeks. The Operations Intern will be exposed to the following:
- Customer support and troubleshooting
- Hosted PBX systems
- Configuration of individual customer configurations
- SBCs, VoIP, IPTV, ISP
- Data entry and documentation
- Configuration reviews and audits
- Setup and teardown of lab equipment
- Participate in meetings
- Hands-on configuration of systems that do not directly impact the operational status of facilities but that are important to our ability to monitor the network, such as Solarwinds
- Carrier-grade IP networks, L2, L3, and more
To be eligible for this internship, you must be a student in a technical field. This will typically be IT, computer science, MIS, or telecommunications. Must be enrolled in a post-secondary school. Must be a student in good standing with a 3.0 GPA or better.
