Legal Assistant with Advancement Potential
Our busy estate planning law firm is seeking an experienced, highly motivated and organized legal assistant to join our legal team. This position requires someone who can manage multiple tasks efficiently, is detail-oriented, and is able to work well under pressure. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a law office setting and be able to step into different roles or responsibilities as needed. This position has the potential of evolving into a paralegal position. Our firm is centrally located near Central Avenue and Thomas Road and in-office work is required.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting attorneys and paralegals with drafting, proofreading and editing legal documents and correspondences
- Preparing, organizing and maintaining client files and databases
- Interacting with clients and other staff members
- Preparing time entries and tracking clients costs for billings
- Managing calendars and scheduling appointments
- Conducting legal research and preparing correspondences and miscellaneous documents
- Providing professional and ethical service to clients
- Other administrative tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 2 years of experience working in a law office
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook and on-line research
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and take direction from others
- Desire to learn new software programs and take additional responsibilities
- Reliable, ethical, and professional conduct
