Non CDL Delivery Driver - Aviston Lumber / KBC

Aviston Lumber, now Kirchner Building Centers, is seeking a responsible and safety-conscious Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in lumber and building materials and will ensure that all company processes and procedures are followed relating to product deliveries and operations within the lumberyard. It is the responsibility of the Delivery Driver to ensure the product is transported in an efficient, safe, timely manner with no damage to the product.

Experience and License Requirements:
- Clean driving record and ability to ensure proper delivery while preventing damage to materials and equipment

- Ability to maintain forklift certification within 30 days of hire (training/testing provided by Kirchner Building Centers)

- Individual must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

- Must be able to stand, walk, bend for the duration of each shift

- Ability to work in all weather conditions

- Full time schedule includes occasional hours on Saturday mornings

- Limited overtime based on business needs

Areas of Responsibility & Duties (Not Limited to):

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

- Accurately build loads and prepare materials for deliveries in a timely manner

- Safely operate forklift in accordance with OSHA and KBC standards

- Work with team to schedule deliveries of materials to customers

- Maintain clean and organized environment in lumberyard and storage buildings

- Responsible for proper paperwork for deliveries, incoming inventory and inter-yard transfers

- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise

- Build relationships with customers, vendors and team members

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all operations are running smoothly

- Perform other assigned tasks as requested by leadership team when needed

Upon hire, a Delivery Driver must have a current valid driver's license in good standing, as well as perform all required daily equipment inspections in accordance with Kirchner Building Center safety guidelines.

Other Requirements:
- Ability to operate a forklift and other heavy equipment

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Knowledge of lumber and building materials

- Ability to follow company processes and procedures

- Ability to always maintain a culture of safety

- Must successfully complete all company training and certifications
