What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respite Worker position at Charles River Center?
Respite worker needed for an individual with a disability who is also a disability rights advocate. She is 43 yrs. old and lives in her own apartment in Canton.
This individual is supported by the Agency with a Choice program called “self-direction.” Mileage is covered.
The ideal candidate will be professional at all times, reliable, enthusiastic, good sense of humor, positive and compassionate. Preferences for a caregiver who is comfortable with pets.
The hours are for late afternoon and early evening, (possibly 4-5:30 2 days/week & 2 hrs a third day) Flexible hours
Some of the activities would include helping her with evening meals, helping her organize her schedule, grocery shopping, and hanging out at her apartment. She likes heavy metal music and scary movies.
The applicant will need to fill out forms, have a background check, and take training through the Charles River Center in Needham. This process takes between 2 & 3 weeks.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.51 per hour
Expected hours: 5 per week
