Job Details:
Our client is in need of an interim CFO or VP of Finance with background strong in strategic accounting and forecasting. With the right person, it could become permanent, but right now filling the interim need. The role is a hybrid role with a consulting firm in the utilities industry, that is seeking candidates in or around Marlborough, MA. The role requires three days in-office and two (2) remote. Tuesday and Wednesday are mandatory to be in-office, with the third in-office day being your choice.
The position is 40 hours a week for 2-6 months and has an anticipated start date within 1-2 weeks. There may be an opportunity for temp-to-perm placement.
You directly report to the CFO.

Position Summary: The CFO/Vice President of Finance (VP of Finance) is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and objectives. The VP of Finance collaborates with senior leadership to develop financial strategies, manage budgets, and optimize financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team, including financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Accounting Operations: Oversee all accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax compliance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including annual, quarterly, and monthly reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow to ensure the company has sufficient liquidity to meet its operational needs.
- Investment Oversight: Oversee the company's investment portfolio, ensuring responsible management and compliance with investment policies.
- Risk Management: Implement risk management practices to identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including tax laws and financial reporting standards.
