Schwab Asset Management (SAM) is seeking a strategic and self-motivated Senior Manager of Product Management to lead and grow Schwab Liquidity Consulting Services (SLCS) and support the broader product management of Schwab Money Funds. This individual contributor role will report to the Director of Schwab Money Funds Product Management and Strategy and will play a critical role in supporting the delivering of tailored liquidity guidance to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients through SLCS.

The ideal candidate will be a strong self-starter, capable of working independently and cross-functionally to manage and enhance the SLCS program and support key initiatives across the Schwab Money Fund complex. Responsibilities include the administration of conducting liquidity consultations, executing product and program enhancements, supporting product launches, and developing strategic presentations and materials for senior executives and product committees. The role will also manage ongoing tasks such as market collateral, regulatory documentation, website content, and resolving operational issues.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

 

Product Management

  • Accountability for program associated with Schwab Liquidity Consulting Services (SLCS) and support product management of Schwab Money Funds product and positioning
  • Provide program and product insights as well as competitive analysis for internal and external audiences
  • Provide content support on SLCS program and product initiatives
  • Research competitive landscape from a program and product perspective
  • Ensure the relevance and accuracy of information provided on the funds to clients and prospects. Items include fact sheets, performance summaries, web pages, sales support materials, etc.
  • Serve as the “voice of the client” in the development of reports, prospectuses and other fund documents
  • Address program and product inquiries from the internal audiences, clients and prospects
  • Closely partner with Investment Portfolio Strategists and key business partners
  • Support sales efforts and work across the organization to support distribution of the program and funds
  • Positioning vis-à-vis competitors and complimentary Schwab products
  • Improvements ranging from small actions to product line overhauls
  • Support new program/fund launches or changes to existing programs and products

Product Marketing

  • Be the committed advocate, promoter and subject matter authority of Schwab Liquidity Consulting Services
  • Support opportunities to grow assets under management through quantitative analyses of client behavior patterns, client needs, market research and feedback from business partners
  • Craft external and internal facing marketing collateral, presentations, training, FAQs, etc.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or CFA preferred
  • Ideally, a minimum of 7-10 years working in the asset management industry
  • 5 to 7 years of direct experience in the mutual funds industry ideally with a strong working knowledge of fixed income markets and securities
  • Strong understanding liquidity products and liquidity management
  • Ability to work with data to find insights on client behavior/needs and understand financial trade-offs of product options
  • Self-starter comfortable in juggling multiple projects with potentially conflicting priorities and resource/time constraints. Strong understanding of business strategy and development of business planning
  • Compose clear and informative content for a wide variety of publications including client reports, web pages, marketing materials, and PowerPoint decks
  • Strong project management skills: building and leading project plans
  • Understanding of Charles Schwab’s (Schwab) distribution channels and Schwab’s business model for investors
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Natural ability to build, manage relationships and lead-up across a matrixed organization
  • Series 7 required. May obtain within first 6 months in the role
