Your Opportunity
Schwab Asset Management (SAM) seeks to recruit an experienced investment professional to serve as a Director, Senior Analyst on the Investment Manager Research team, based in the Denver office.
What you are good at
This Director, Senior Analyst will have primary ownership of the U.S. equity manager universe and lead research activities for all externally-managed or sub-advised U.S. equity strategies. This role will be responsible for existing external managers, identify and select new managers, maintain up to date knowledge of the investment landscape, and support ongoing monitoring and reporting as the need arises. This senior analyst will employ a high level of judgment to evaluate investment managers on both qualitative and quantitative factors and present robust analysis to investment committees to achieve broad support for the recommendation. This requires a high level of interaction with senior members of the investment team and other internal partners. In addition, the analyst will develop positive relationships with external managers allowing for continuous input and opinions on markets and positioning.
Additionally, this position will significantly contribute to investment debate, provide ideas for portfolio opportunities and positioning, and broadly contribute to nearly all aspects of the investment management process. The role will also contribute to investment board and committee-level presentations as part of the firm's governance process. The Director, senior analyst will also have managerial responsibility for another team member(s) conducting U.S. Equity manager research.
The coverage universe includes mutual funds, separate accounts, collective investment trusts and ETFs for approximately $90 billion in multi-asset portfolios.
What you have
Prefer 10 to 15 years' experience, preferably in the role of a manager research analyst with deep expertise of U.S. equity markets and investment managers. Strong written/verbal communication skills required. Advanced degree or participation in CFA program or willingness to do so preferred. Willingness to travel. Required to multi-task and meet multiple goals with limited oversight.
Colorado Compensation
Target Total Compensation – 139,200-278,300
