This position will be part of the Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR) Communications Team. The SCFR Communications Team works directly with investment research groups to support the development and distribution of SCFR’s public and internal market commentary and wealth management insights through digital, print, audio, video, and social media.
The SCFR Communications team coordinates with business partners throughout Schwab to ensure that SCFR’s point of view on timely issues of importance to investors is sent out through all distribution channels and is consumed by a wide audience of client facing representatives, clients, and prospects.

- Collaborate with our research and content marketing teams to create charts and infographics to supplement and enhance market research and commentary distributed through a variety of channels, including online and print articles, presentations, recorded video, and social media.
- Animate and finalize high quality motion graphics based on data and trends to help explain Schwab’s market research and perspective.
- Design, create, and optimize graphical assets, typography, and layout within the parameters of the corporate branding system and various platforms
- Clearly articulate and present creative solutions that meet brand standards, with the ability to provide the supporting rationale.
- Own the creative process through concept, design, production, and delivery, which includes managing project schedules and synthesizing and interpreting design feedback from multiple stakeholders.
- Motivate internal stakeholders and partners to ensure that projects maintain momentum.
- Champion and follow accessibility/ADA guidelines.
- 3 years corporate or agency design experience with a BFA in graphic design, or similar discipline required.
- A basic understanding of financial markets and economic data and the ability to interpret the data.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office Suite, including demonstrated ability to create animated graphics in Adobe After Effects and data-based charts in Microsoft Excel.
- Expert design sensibility and principles with strong design skills in layout, composition, typography, and color usage.
- Experience creating visual elements and designs for different distribution channels, including corporate websites, print publications, and social media.
- Ability to set up and work with style sheets in various programs and maintain proper organization of all projects and files for reformatting, archiving and auditing purposes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent project and time management skills, with the ability to work concurrently on multiple projects under tight deadlines and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and positive work ethic.
- Experience with video editing a plus.
- Ability to work locally, both on- and off-site.
