CCS prides itself on being an independent, co-educational, non-sectarian, PreSchool through 12th grade school, nestled on a beautiful 30-acre campus located on Johns Island.
Charleston Collegiate School is currently seeking an experienced, dynamic, and nurturing Aftercare Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates should not only have excellent communication and interpersonal skills but also possess a deep understanding of developmentally appropriate activities, a passion for working with children, and a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Aftercare Teacher should have:
- Dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion
- Experience working with children
- Understanding of the developmental needs of lower school & middle school students
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment
- Experience partnering with parents and guardians
Primary Responsibilities:
- Communicate well, have a great work ethic and make sure the needs of children are priority.
- Responsible for aiding children in exploring interests and learning how to properly interact with others.
- Serve all children without bias and encourage children's independence.
- Talk respectfully to the children, parents, and staff
- Monitor and care for children in free-play situations.
- Comfortable with leading a small group or large group activity.
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma Required
- Bachelor’s Preferred.
- Knowledge of Conscious Discipline Preferred but not required.
