QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred Master’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience and background.
- Certification through MSBO as Chief Technology Officer, or willingness to pursue.
- Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing.
- Thorough knowledge of business administration, organization, and management in education.
- Thorough knowledge of data processing methods and procedures and computer software systems.
- Thorough knowledge of the techniques and concepts used in designing and creating data structures and procedures to ensure data security, data back-ups, system updates and recovery.
- Thorough knowledge of project management for information technology.
- Thorough knowledge of information technology systems (voice, video, data) and their integration capabilities.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Knowledge of and ability to work successfully in a K-12 school environment.
- Previous experience working with education based MDM systems.

Technology Coordinator, Business Manager, Director of Food Service, Director of Transportation, and School Building Administrators.
OVERVIEW:
Under the Superintendent's direction, the Director of Technology provides leadership in identifying, assessing, and managing technology needs for the school district; directs, coordinates, supervises, facilitates, and performs all tasks and elements needed to effect comprehensive integration of appropriate technology into every facet of operations (i.e.: reliability of technology systems, robust performance, and security of the network, etc.); contributes to the infusion of educational technology into classrooms in collaboration with the Technology Coordinator. The Director of Technology accomplishes this by providing highly motivated, professional leadership in all areas of technology planning and technology resource management; and serves as an integral member of the school district's leadership team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish the vision and goals for the district’s information technology landscape through collaboration with the technology steering committee, including big-picture perspectives on the meaningful and effective uses of technology in an educational environment.
- Prepare, implement, and manage the technology budget.
- Manage the maintenance, monitoring, and inventory of all instructional and logistical information technology (servers, networking, cabling, telephony, cloud, devices, etc.).
- Manage the district student information system (currently PowerSchool).
- Facilitate state-mandated student count procedures (fall, winter, & summer, TSDL, CRDC, SRMs).
- Create and support cross-functional teams for decision-making, technology support, professional development, and other aspects of the technology program.
- Provide information technology leadership for any district committees.
- Co-Manage district web presence with our technology coordinator.
- Coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software for educational and management functions.
- Create and maintain partnerships with local governmental and educational agencies that are mutually beneficial.
- Maintain Macbooks, iPads, printers, software, and operating systems.
- Maintain documentation, asset inventories, passwords, applications, and manage our FMX system.
- Manage the creation, implementation, and enforcement of policies and educational programs relating to the social, legal, and ethical issues related to technology use throughout the district.
- Ensure district high-stakes testing information technology infrastructure is robust and stable.
- Facilitate the support of multiple learning management system platforms in order to meet the instructional goals of the district (Google, Mac OS, etc.).
- Coordinate technology team meetings with our technology coordinator.
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Fifty-two (52) weeks with vacation days, holidays, personal business days, and personal illness days as indicated in the employment contract. Salary to be set by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent of Schools in accordance with the policy of the Board of Education regarding the evaluation of professional staff.
