Interior Designer 3-5 years experience

Charlie Hellstern Interior Design is a boutique interior design firm based in Seattle. Charlie started her own firm in 2017 after spending 22 years working with some of the most highly regarded design and architecture firms in the Pacific Northwest.

Since its inception the firm has grown exponentially and we have an opening for an experienced full time interior designer to join our expanding team.

This role is right for you if you have a minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in high end residential interior design. You demonstrate leadership and exceptional project management skills when working with the internal team as well as our clients to create custom design solutions that focus on careful detailing. You have experience specifying custom furnishings and materials as well as care deeply about finishes that reflect a strong design sensibility coupled with sensitivity to the way our client’s live in their spaces. Following Charlie’s lead as the principal designer and working closely with Senior Designers you are able to translate ideas and sketches in to floor plans, elevations and presentation materials. You engage with project management with as much enthusiasm and create project budgets and schedules with ease. You communicate with fluency in English and work collaboratively on all phases of the design process. It goes without saying that you are enthusiastic about design and chase inspiration and great ideas with a passion.

‘Self starter’ might sound like a cliché, but for us it could be your most valued asset. Your skills can be honed with practice and experience but that internal voice that drives us is innate. It is essential to be successful in this role.

Strong technical skills are a must. CAD proficiency is vital. SketchUp & Adobe Creative Suite are also required. You find yourself equally comfortable drawing as you do in an excel file creating schedules.
