The Assistant Director of Goalkeeping is responsible for successfully overseeing day to day management of the Charlotte Independence goalkeepers and to promote the club and its philosophies. This role will oversee the specifically assigned programs and players in the club within the area of concentration. This role involves implementing training programs, providing coaching for national and competitive-level players, and supporting player development. The position also includes educating players, parents, and coaches about the goalkeeping program. The Assistant Director will manage part-time goalkeeper coaches, oversee team selection, and handle program administration. Key administrative duties include managing member communication, serving as a liaison within the club, and coordinating practice and game schedules.
Description
JOB DUTIES
- Oversee daily coaching responsibilities, including national-level, competitive-level, youth academy, and USL programs as assigned.
- Manage part-time goalkeeping staff in the designated region, ensuring clear communication about schedules, coaching assignments, and goalkeeper-specific issues.
- Management of goalkeeping training schedule
- Assist in development of player and team selection process
- Coordinate the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process, including player evaluations and feedback for members.
- Provide coaching coverage when staff coaches are unavailable.
- Assist in the recruitment of goalkeeping staff
- Develop educational content, including webinars, to support player and coach development.
- Provide social media content for marketing team to promote the goalkeeping program and players
- Supporting strategic objectives to enhance the club’s mission and core values
- Player ID and recruitment
- Summer camp responsibilities, including staffing, set up, running sessions, and planning.
- Commitment and adherence to KeepUsSafe and LetUsPlay policies
- Communicate effectively with parents to provide education and updates on the program
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in soccer administration
- Minimum US Soccer D Coaching License or foreign equivalent
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including listening, coaching & training
- Strong leadership, project management & time management skills
- Ability to develop strong relationships and work within a team of employees at all levels
- Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills in a professional environment
- Proven ability to develop players and programs based on club goals and philosophy
- Solid management and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated proficiency and process design and technology applications
- Proven exceptional customer service skills with internal and external customers
