The Recreation Director, Tega Cay will be the lead contact for Tega Cay Recreation Members and Recreation Coaches. We are looking for someone with excellent organizational and communication skills to assist and answer questions for members about the Recreation program and the club. They will help with email/phone/registration requests and be on the field during the week and weekends to ensure a quality environment for our Recreation program. We are looking for people who are eager to learn, have a lot of energy, and can bring excellent customer service skills, administration skills, and are strong in their use of current and new technologies.
Description
This position combines remote administrative work with in-person responsibilities. The role requires:
Administrative Work:
Must be available to complete administrative tasks during the work week (can be completed remotely)
On-Field Responsibilities:
Weekly in-person duties at recreation locations, with a primary focus on the Tega Cay location.
During the season, must be available to work:
- Two evenings per week on the fields
- Friday nights and Saturday mornings
Season Schedule:
- Fall Season: Runs from September to mid-November, with field work beginning the month prior.
- Spring Season: Runs from late February to mid-May, with field work beginning the month prior.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the candidate’s skills and interests. Examples include futsal, camps, operations, tournaments, scheduling, adult leagues, and coaching.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Answering all inbound phone calls including answering live calls and handling all voicemails
- Manage recreation emails/form fills
- Guide members in understanding PlayMetrics (registration system) navigation to assist with members' questions
- Manage PlayMetrics registration platform for member registration
- Ad hoc reporting, at the request of the Director of Recreation
- Assist in special recreation and bridge events during the year
- On the field M-Th during the first two weeks of each Recreation season
- On the field for 2-4 hours weekly, during the season, as a liaison and technical coach for recreation teams
- On the field for 4-8 hours on weekends, during the season, managing the game day environment
REQUIREMENTS
- High attention to detail with a strength in time-management and organization skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to learn and master new software programs
- Proficiency in soccer education/coaching is highly preferred
- Background in youth sports coaching or administration is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working on a team as well as independently
- High School Diploma
- Proven experience in customer service role
- Available to work nights and evenings
- Available to work weekends
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus, although not a requirement
- Flexible and open to change
- Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
