The Recreation On-Field Coordinator - York County will be responsible for overseeing on-field activities, including coach education, training sessions, and gameday operations. This role involves working directly with members, recreation coaches, and players. The Coordinator will lead age-appropriate training sessions during the week and provide support during games on Friday nights and/or Saturday mornings during the season.
Description
This is an in-person position based at our recreation locations, primarily in Tega Cay and/or Rock Hill. The role requires 6–12 hours per week. Administrative tasks can be completed during the workweek, while in-season responsibilities include being on the field two nights a week and covering games on Friday nights and Saturday mornings.
The season runs from late February through the end of May.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assist in special recreation and bridge events during the year
- On the field M-Th during the first two weeks of the Recreation season (from February 24 – March 6)
- On the field for 2-4 hours weekly, during the season, as a liaison and technical coach for recreation teams
- On the field for 4-8 hours on weekends, during the season, managing the game-day environment
- Ad hoc reporting, at the request of the Director of Recreation
REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in soccer education/coaching
- Background in youth sports coaching or administration is preferred
- Experience working on a team as well as independently
- High School Diploma
- Available to work nights and evenings
- Available to work weekends
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus, although not a requirement
- Flexible and open to change
- Must have authorization to work in the U.S
