Responsibilities
The Charlotte Lab School Student Life Coordinator will have responsibilities in support of Lab’s wellness & culture vision:
- Provide oversight for the development and implementation of the K-12 clubs and activities program, to include chess, arts, and STEM programming;
- Oversee student-led programming, including clubs and electives, which may include the teaching and/or facilitation of an elective class;
- Develop, facilitate and oversee student leadership activities, including student government activities for middle and high school students, as well as activities that partner middle and high school students with primary and lower school students;
- Support the development, implementation, and oversight of programs and partnerships with enrichment and elective vendors;
- Maintain a student activities calendar and communicate dates and events with the External Relations team;
- Share and communicate activities and celebrations via email newsletters and social media.
The Charlotte Lab School Student Life Coordinator will have responsibilities in support of Lab’s external development:
- Serve as a member of Lab’s External Relations team;
- Collaboratively develop a vision for and implement an activities booster club to financially support student life at Lab;
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities with individuals and foundations;
- Support the initiation and cultivation of relationships with potential partners and donors and facilitate introductions to Executive Director when relevant;
- Participate in the identification, writing, submitting, reporting and accountability of relevant grants.
- Take on other responsibilities as needed, and as assigned, to ensure organizational success.
Qualifications
Candidate MUST:
- Be able/willing to learn how to fulfill the responsibilities listed above;
- Hold a Bachelor's degree from a four year institution;
- Have a least 5 years of full-time teaching or leading experience combined;
- Hold or be willing to obtain up-to-date CPR/First Aid Certification;
- Demonstrate experience in, or passion for, leading diverse populations.
In addition, the Lab School Leadership Team will look favorably upon candidates who:
PREPARATION:
- Are fully licensed or willing to obtain North Carolina K-5, 6-8 and/or 9-12 teacher or administrator licensure;
- Have an advanced degree in a related field;
- Have comfort with technology and experience with Google Suite;
- Possess strong people management skills;
- Are exceptionally organized and have ability to prioritize effectively and meet competing deadlines;

Compensation
Compensation for this internal position is a set stipend amount of $2,000.00/semester for specific deliverables across the span of the school year, including the full month of June.
