General Definition of Work
The educational technology support manager, under general supervision, performs professional work developing, implementing, and coordinating short-and long-range plans for the integration of technology into instructional programs and professional development. Position collaborates to support transformational change throughout the instructional environment. Employee performs complex work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures under the direction of the Executive Director of Educational Technology.

Place of Work
The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Support implementation of the district's digital transition toward mobile learning initiatives, special technology-enhanced programs, personalized learning methodology, and information technology (IT) curriculum integration in grades K-12
- Collaborate on the development and quality of technology and learning service program elements
- Train and support school-level technology facilitators to implement educational technology best practices and skills at their schools
- Create training programs using e-Learning software and proactively search for new ways to leverage technology in a K-12 setting
- Coach and model effective use of technology tools and resources
- Collaborate with teachers and district leaders to continuously assess student learning and technology literacy
- Collaborate to develop and promote district instructional design standards
- Collaborate to develop and promote standards related to the procurement of technology, maintenance of quality inventory, surplus of technology equipment, etc.
- Conduct needs assessments to inform the content and delivery of technology-related professional learning programs
- Select, evaluate, and facilitate the use of adaptive and assistive technologies to support student learning
- Partner with external vendors to develop, coordinate, and implement quality professional development
- Work cross-functionally to support the resolution of tickets and issues
- Prepare presentations, status updates, briefings and other correspondence
- Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures, and updates related websites
- Facilitate staff meetings and attend other related meetings as needed/required
- Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations
- Perform related work as assigned or required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Comprehensive in-depth knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public school system policies
- Comprehensive knowledge of educational standards, pedagogical theories, and best practices in teaching and learning
- Thorough knowledge of implementing technology systems, devices, training, and support in a K-12 environment
- Knowledge in digital tools to support learning pedagogy
- Comprehensive knowledge on how to utilize appropriate data and information to make decisions
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of various learning styles, curriculum development and program evaluation, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to technology and learning
- Knowledge of and proficiency with instructional technology tools, learning management systems, and multimedia resources
- Knowledge of and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in curriculum design and implementation
- Skilled in the use of current software to include word processing, spreadsheets, and desktop publishing applications
- Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needs
- Ability to implement local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, and procedures into daily business operations
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective working relationships

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Valid NC teaching license required
- 077 Instructional Technology Specialist Certification, Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL), and/or Certified Government Chief Information Officer, (CGCIO) preferred
- Minimum of five years of experience in teaching, curriculum development/instructional design, or educational leadership required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience

- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
