Assistant Primary Montessori Teacher — Charlotte Montessori School is looking for a full time Assistant Teacher to join our team of dedicated professionals. Applicant should have experience working with young children ages 3 - 6, and some general understanding of Montessori philosophy and curriculum. College degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. Montessori trainees welcome! Charlotte Montessori School is looking for a dependable candidate that is committed to finding a long term position.
Candidates must be self-motivated, patient, energetic, and possess a positive attitude. Candidates should be able to demonstrate respect for the child, school, and environment. Hours are generally 8:15AM to 5:15PM, five days a week. Promptness and dependability are a must. Our Primary classrooms are mixed age grouping between the ages of 3 and 6 years.
The Assistant Teacher is an important position on a two-member teaching team in a Primary setting. He/she helps to ensure that the classroom environment is prepared; helps with transitions to Circle, lunch, recess, and rest/nap. Is an active contributor in teacher-led classroom meetings and faculty meetings. While also playing an important role in supporting each student’s academic and social/emotional growth.
The ability to work as a team is essential. Our Assistant Teachers are the leaders of Extended Day. We welcome your passion for the arts and sciences to enrich our program.
