ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Surgical Center / Physician Support
· Ensures the efficient operation of the surgery center and clinical exam rooms so the physicians can provide surgical and patient care services.
· Ensures surgical equipment is always operational.
· Ensures clinical supplies, including implants, garments, medications, and special materials, are ordered and available as needed during surgical procedures or during clinical office exams.
· Oversees the Quality Improvement program.
· Researches and negotiates purchases of surgical equipment and other supplies as needed.
· Schedules preventative maintenance on all equipment and maintains records of all repairs and preventative maintenance performed.
· Ensures facility accreditation by completing peer review activities, completing yearly self tests and ensuring compliance with all AAAASF standards. Coordinates and assists in site reviews.
Clinical Staffing
· Creates schedule for clinical staff to ensure adequate coverage for the surgery center and physician office visits.
· Ensures that physicians and clinical staff are certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
· Ensures clinical team is educated in OSHA policies and procedures and develops / updates procedures as needed.
· Ensures clinical team follows policies and procedures so the pre-operative, operating and recovery area operate efficiently and safely.
· Provides each employee with an annual performance evaluation.
· Ensures valid licensure / certification for all registered nurses, surgical techs and sterile processors.
Administrative
· Writes and maintains policies and procedures for the surgical center based upon AORN Standards of Care, Scope of Practice by ASPSN and AAAASF standards.
· Oversees product recall procedures.
· Negotiates annual maintenance agreements.
· Maintains implant consignment.
· May cover for clinical positions as needed.
· Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and motivates staff
- Train, direct and appraise staff.
- Make daily schedules for efficient personnel utilization.
- Plans and organizes workload and staff assignments.
- Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred
- Registered Nurse required
- Previous operating room management / clinical management experience required, recovery experience preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- ACLS, BLS

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
