Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Welding Process Specialist to join our team at Chart Industries.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Weld Engineer in shop production or field construction, with a strong understanding of statistical control and fundamentals of weld processes.
You will be responsible for providing technical resources to develop, maintain, and implement weld processes to support our Theodore, Alabama facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign and control WPS/PQR/WPQR on various alloys and filler metals in compliance with industry standards.
- MaintainWPQ's and continuity/prolongation logs as required.
- Identify and resolve production problems related to design engineering, quality control, drafting, sales, and production supervision.
- Specify and provide justification for the purchase of new or replacement weld, cutting, or fabrication equipment as needed.
- Provide reports of ongoing shop floor activities, training, and perceived areas needing special attention.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum BS degree in Weld Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Material Sciences.
- Experience with GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, and SMAW weld processes.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and weld programs such as C-Spec.
- Demonstrated management and leadership training or demonstrated management abilities.
- Familiarity with NDE basics including RT, UT, LPT, MPT, and VT.
What We Offer
In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
Location
This role is based in Theodore, Alabama, and you will be expected to work in an office and industrial manufacturing environment with possible exposure to temperature extremes, overhead objects, material with rough edges, and odors associated with cutting and welding.
