Controller

Charter House Holdings, LLC is currently searching for a Controller to join our Hospitality team. Charter House is a manufacturer of seating and decor for quick service restaurants. However, Charter House is also the parent company to CityFlatsHotels in Grand Rapids and Port Huron and Sperry's Moviehouses in Holland and Port Huron. This position will be working exclusively with the hospitality group.

The Controller for the hospitality group directs the financial activities of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

• Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company.
• Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
• Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
• Arranges for audits of company's accounts.
• Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions.
• Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
• Oversees operations of the hospitality group through the properties management teams.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field with at least five years related experience and a minimum of 2 to 3 years in a Controller position preferably within the hospitality industry
• Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes
• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
• Excellent working knowledge of Office 365, Job Boss, and Sage Intacct
• Well-organized with ability to prioritize
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills; team player
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Self-driven and motivated to succeed
