Senior Accountant

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Accountant under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, works closely with operations of the business and supports the GAAP accounting and reporting functions with integrity, quality, and accuracy. The role will be challenged with identifying and proposing process improvement across related areas of responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Build study budgets and maintain financial tracking in the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
2. Coordinate as necessary with the clinical teams to accurately track revenues earned by procedure, visit, outsourced procedure, and reimbursable item.
3. Create and send invoices for all services performed in the study and reconcile in both QuickBooks and Clinical Trial Management System.
4. Correspond with study sponsors as needed to collect payment for all invoices.
5. Record payment activity in CTMS and QuickBooks and reconcile any discrepancies.
6. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support the preparation of financial statements.
7. Perform general ledger account analysis, research, and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
8. Assist with continuous improvement, automation, and internal control initiatives.
9. Assist with the preparation of audits, budgets, and forecasts.
10. Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
11. Provide training, support, and guidance to other accounting staff members.
12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
2. QuickBooks Online Advanced accounting software.
3. BILL.com A/P automation and Expensify expense management software.
4. CRIO or Clinical Conductor Clinical Trial Management System.
5. Excellent verbal and written skills.
6. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.

Experience

1. 3 years accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable experience.
2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, especially Excel).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
