What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hall Monitor - Viera Charter School position at Charter School Associates Inc?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise students and their activities outside the classroom. To include hallways, cafeteria, locker rooms, school grounds, playgrounds, track and field, and street crossings.
- Arrive at the school before students and remain throughout the day until students have left the building.
- Help maintain order and report students whose behavior is unsafe or disruptive.
- It is not up to the hall monitor to determine or administer any necessary disciplinary action, only to make a record of it and report it to the proper authority.
- Locate students who are on campus but not in their assigned classrooms.
- Guide students across streets and intersections.
- Greet visitors, answer general questions and give directions.
- Ask visitors for identification.
- Maintain a logbook for security purposes.
- Use a two-way radio for communication.
- Communicate effectively using written and verbal communication.
- Use good judgement decision-making and remain calm under stressful conditions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or College Credits required
- Previous experience preferred
