Job Summary:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will uphold the philosophy of zero defects and continuous improvement. This role involves participating in Advanced Quality Planning (APQP), leading or joining problem-solving teams, and executing corrective and preventive actions. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will engage in various quality-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Travel: Ability to travel periodically, on average up to 4 times per year, primarily domestic.

Additionally, the Quality Engineer will engage in various quality-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead corrective and preventive action teams for customer concerns, internal/supplier quality issues, and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Direct customer/supplier communication and problem resolution
- Oversee Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes and teams
- Ensure successful product and process launches, meeting customer requirements
- Participate in cross-functional product trial reviews to meet quality and productivity criteria
- Create, review, and verify quality documentation, including Work Instructions, FMEAs, and Control Plans
- Develop and implement standards for inspection, testing, and evaluation
- Lead Continuous Improvement projects for safety, quality, and productivity
- Perform production readiness evaluations and recommend actions
- Conduct internal and supplier audits, maintaining documentation and training employees as needed
- Promote open communication and teamwork regarding quality
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related degree, and/or equivalent experience
- Five plus years’ experience in a Quality role, preferably in manufacturing
- Experience in leading problem-solving efforts with demonstrated ability to apply team problem solving techniques.
- IATF-16949 understanding and participation
- Working knowledge of drawing and test specification standards (Geometric Dimensioning - Tolerance, etc.)
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of gauges
- ASQ Certified
- Six Sigma Black/Green Belt.
- Tier 1 Automotive experience
- Experience in APQP process and PPAP submissions
- Strong interpersonal and team-leading skills
- Conceive, plan, organize and coordinate all phases of assigned special projects to improve efficiencies, simplify workflow and reduce costs
- Apply statistical methods such as MSA, design of experiments and statistical process control to quality related issues
- Strong Core Tools and Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge
- Comprehensive knowledge of advanced quality assurance practices
- The ability to manage projects and work in a team project environment is required
- Ability to influence thru communication skill, data analysis & insightful presentation
- Experience with direct customer/supplier contact in a quality role
- Related industry experience
