Chartwell Escrow, an independent escrow company in Southern California, has an opportunity for a Floating Escrow Officer in the San Diego County region to be a contributing team member on several of our highly productive escrow units. A willingness to travel up to 100 miles one way is a crucial aspect of this opportunity. In cases where the distance exceeds 80 miles, we offer the option to stay within the coverage area. Moreover, this position is eligible for annual bonuses, adding an extra layer of reward and recognition for your hard work and dedication.
The ideal candidate will have an ample amount of experience handling escrow transactions and will highly value the opportunity to support several units and to contribute to the success of our organization.
Floating Escrow Officers have full responsibility for management of the inventory of transactions under their care. They are ambassadors of the company and client retention partners to their sales team. They are responsible for adherence to company policies and procedures as well as government and regulatory compliance. Additionally, they recognize unusual or sensitive circumstances which signal the need for advice from upper management. This includes Escrow Operations for escrow technical matters as well as Human Resources for matters involving internal staff.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare full-spectrum escrow instructions and amendments
- Prepare escrow documents efficiently and accurately
- Review a Preliminary Report and document processing needs accordingly
- Prepare a complete and accurate Settlement Statement
- Prepare precise and comprehensive title recording instructions
- Abstract recordable documents and remedy any deficiencies
- Direct and delegate duties to junior members of staff
- Review file for completeness and compliance; proceeding to closing by remitting documents to title for recording; accurately balancing and disbursing file.
- Complying with regulatory requirements by adhering, and enforcing adherence, to requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of recent escrow experience handling resale transactions
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Highly technologically proficient, experience with Qualia desired
- Comfortable working in a paperless escrow environment
- High attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
