Job Summary
Are you a strategic financial leader with a passion for higher education dining services? Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Financial Controller to drive the financial success of the University of South Florida’s dining program. This role goes beyond numbers-you’ll play a vital part in shaping financial strategies, optimizing operations, and ensuring long-term financial health.
As the Financial Controller , you’ll lead all financial activities, from revenue and expense management to forecasting and reporting. You’ll collaborate with key stakeholders, analyze performance trends, and implement best practices to maximize efficiency and profitability. This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact at a dynamic university account while working with a forward-thinking team in the food service industry.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepares and analyzes monthly Management Reporting, weekly Business Reports, and AD Hoc requests as assigned
- Provides direction to operating units and to operating management on matters involving client returns and PBO goals
- Assists in compiling and analyzing budgets & forecasts, considering "what if" scenarios and bringing forth suggestions
- Develops and maintains timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
- Reviews monthly results and implements monthly variance reporting
- Implements policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation
- Establishes guidelines for budget and forecast preparation, and prepares the annual budget in consultation with Regional Vice President
