Middle School Boys/Girls Track and Field Head Coach

Charyl Stockwell Academy Middle is hiring a Middle School Boys/Girls Track and Field Head Coach.  The season runs 3/10/25 - 5/30/25.  Working 4-5 days/week,  practice time slot is 4:30-5:45 pm. , 6-7 track meets/season.

Charyl Stockwell Academy (CSA) District is a public school academy that serves approximately 1,250 students Kindergarten through High School.  Since opening its doors in 1996, the CSA District has received the earned distinction as a School of Excellence due to its academic achievement, and is ranked in the top 10% of all public schools in the state of Michigan.  Holding high expectations for academic performance and strong character, the CSA District is a highly competitive and desired school of choice in Livingston County.  The student population of the CSA District reflects small, balanced mixed-ability classrooms, including students that are academically gifted.  

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

2. Previous Track and Field coaching (any level) and/or playing experience (preferably at the collegiate level)

3. Ability to communicate, foster, and maintain positive relationships with students, other coaches, administrators, boosters, and parents.

4. Excellent organizational and communications skills

5. Successful experience in mentoring youth in track and field and abilty to deligate tasks to assistant coaches.

6. Knowledge of current training methods that are proven effective through research and 

good practices.

7. Possess good motivational skills

8. Ability to guide and direct a track team to improve and work toward PR's.

9. Must successfully pass a background check to work in a school environment.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Coach’s student athletes in the skill necessary for achievement in the sport involved.

2. Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.

3. Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate.

4. Helps support booster club fundraisers.

5. Administrative duties assigned by the Athletic Director such as, accurate records, official’s evaluations and other paper work.

6. Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.

7. Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in the sport, as appropriate.

8. Enforces sportsmanlike and respectful behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees 

these standards in team management.

9. Accountable for all team equipment, supplies, and team record reporting.

10.  Is passionate about the sport being coached and is a dependable employee.

11.  Looks to advance the program by demonstating the abilty to work with all students skill levels.
