Position: Projects Financial Analyst
Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid)
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Projects Financial Analyst to join our team. This hybrid position requires the ability to work both remotely and on-site as needed for meetings and working sessions. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial management support for large projects, ensuring adherence to cost plans, budgets, and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Financial Management:
- Support Large Project Leads (LPLs) and Project Leads in defining project cost and budget plans.
- Manage the process of obtaining approvals for project cost and budget plans.
- Review project actual costs in coordination with LPLs and Project Leads.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and IT Budget Controller to address discrepancies in cost and budget plans versus actual costs.
- Track and report monthly project accruals and reclassification of non-labor transactions.
- Escalate cost under-runs or over-runs exceeding variance thresholds.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports to monitor portfolio costs (forecast and actual).
Support/Enhancement Financial Management:
- Assist Unit Leads in defining cost and budget plans for support/enhancement activities.
- Review actual costs for support/enhancement activities.
- Coordinate with the EPMO and IT Budget Controller to resolve issues related to cost and budget discrepancies.
- Track and manage approvals for support/enhancement funding requests.
- Report monthly accruals and reclassification of non-labor transactions.
- Escalate significant cost variances for support/enhancement activities.
- Generate weekly and monthly portfolio cost reports (forecast and actual).
Position Success Criteria (Desired Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with the Clarity tool is preferred.
Salary : $54 - $56
