Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our assisted living, memory care, and long-term care communities. The Activities Director will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging recreational activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and emotional well-being among residents. Duties
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Plan and coordinate events that foster community engagement and enhance socialization among residents.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive for all residents, including those with disabilities.
- Assist residents in participating in activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continuously improve programming.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding upcoming events and activities.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make necessary adjustments based on resident feedback.
- Stay informed about best practices in recreational therapy and community care to enhance program offerings.
Requirements
- Experience in event planning or recreational therapy is preferred.
- Familiarity with assisted living, home community care, or long-term care environments is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team while demonstrating empathy towards individuals with varying abilities.
- Knowledge of memory care practices is a plus.
- A passion for working with people with disabilities and enhancing their quality of life through meaningful activities.
- Must possess organizational skills to manage multiple events simultaneously while ensuring attention to detail.
