If you're someone who loves spending time outdoors, then this might be the perfect opportunity for you! Chatham County is currently seeking a Maintenance Worker I for the Henderson Golf Course. Don't hesitate to apply today and take the first step towards a fulfilling career.
Examples of Duties
- Performs various unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance and/or repair work at Henderson Golf Course.
- Performs physical labor, works in close areas, bends, and walks great distances.
- Uses and maintains hand tools and drives a truck with an attached trailer.
- Performs regular chemical herbicide applications to the course and maintains records of work activities.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of eighth grade.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must provide and wear approved steel toe protective footwear during regular working hours.
- Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on a golf course.
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred for promotion eligibility.
During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.
In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing.
Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
