In this role, you
- Perform apprentice-level work in the operation of lightweight maintenance and repair equipment.
- Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on light equipment.
- Operate various equipment, including crew trucks, mowing tractors, bush hogs, zero-turn mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, sprayers, jackhammers, striper machines, and other similar equipment and vehicles.
- Perform MS4 inspections.
- May operate heavier and larger equipment on occasion.
- Clean ditches and canals, clear canal access paths for construction crew members, and perform rights-of-way mowing and other road maintenance operations.
- Maintain a daily activity report.
- Clean and secure all equipment in the appropriate place(s) following usage at the end of the shift.
- Must be available for night and weekend work in emergency situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED, and
- At least six (6) months' work experience in equipment operation and roadside maintenance; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions and perform heavy manual labor, lifting, pulling, and manual transporting.
- Must provide and wear approved steel toe protective footwear during regular working hours.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a GA Safety Council Flagger's License within one (1) year of employment.
