Body Technician
Job Summary:
The Body Technician is responsible for repairing damaged vehicle body parts and ensuring the work meets factory and dealership specifications and time standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Repairs: Perform vehicle repairs according to estimates and manufacturer standards.
- Parts Verification: Verify parts against the estimate and ensure proper parts are ordered and received.
- Preparation: Prepare vehicles for body repair work, ensuring all necessary steps are taken for quality results.
- Additional Repairs: Inform management of any additional repairs needed beyond the initial estimate.
- Problem Reporting: Notify management of any issues that may affect the quality of work or alter the promised completion time.
- Tool Maintenance: Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
- Safety Practices: Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, and follow the manufacturer's recommendations for usage.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all laws and regulations regarding hazardous materials, such as paint and thinners, and report any non-compliance to management.
- Team Collaboration: Assist and cooperate with other team members in vehicle repair and preparation.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Stay informed of and comply with federal, state, and local regulations impacting body shop operations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know guidelines.
- Safe Operations: Operate all tools and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
