Knoxville Preparatory School (Knoxville Prep) is a single-gender, public charter middle school located in Knoxville, TN. We opened in fall 2024 with over ninety 6th graders and were excited to expand our grades until we reach the 12th grade.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, delivers, and assesses highly effective instruction aligned to national and state content standards.
- Enacts the Knoxville Prep college preparatory curriculum using evidence-based instructional practices tailored to students needs.
- Communicates specific learning objectives to students.
- Link lesson content to students' prior knowledge of English, background experience and / or real-world application of content.
- Captures student attention through active involvement.
- Administers student assessments and utilize data to identify areas of growth.
- Establishes clear content and language objectives for all lessons.
- Engages in continuous and sustained reflection on teaching practices and leadership behaviors, and adapt methods as needed to achieve school goals and performance objectives.
- Develops strong and sustained relationships with parents and members of the community by creating opportunities for involvement in students learning and development.
- Plans and collaborates with Knoxville Prep teachers and colleagues to reach shared goals and objectives.
- Fosters a motivating, supportive, learning-centered culture of excellence in a well-structured and managed classroom.
- Establishes and enforces rules of behavior and procedures for maintaining order in their classroom.
- Be innovative. Create exciting and engaging, inquiry-oriented learning activities.
