The Website Manager, reporting to the Director of Content, is primarily responsible for the user experience and user interface optimization of Chattanooga Tourism Co.’s website and associated micro-sites, in addition to content creation and calendaring for blog and email campaigns. This is an exempt, full-time position in a hybrid work environment in Chattanooga, TN, and the individual in this role must reside in the Chattanooga metropolitan area.

Elevating the visitor experience through website and email touchpoints by:
- Evaluating, identifying, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of website and email efforts extended to meet the organization’s and marketing team’s strategic goals targeting the group and leisure visitor segments. Strategically, you will focus on tying effective web and email content to the user experience and interface through continuous sitemap and content improvements to align with user needs and expectations.
- Creating content and constructive feedback loops through the use of destination-related SEO keywords to ensure that the web and email functions are exceeding expectations in meeting the needs of the organization’s key stakeholder and visitor segments, and making/implementing strategic recommendations for improvement that optimize web, email, and organizational excellence.
Day-to-day you will:
Work as a member of the Marketing team to:
- Manage and optimize website performance by maintaining the CMS (Simpleview), sitemap, backend functionality, partner event listings, and front-end user experience to ensure seamless navigation and engagement. You will consistently evaluate the website usability, performance, and content to align with user needs and improve website usefulness.
- Create, manage, and refine website content by developing engaging, SEO-driven content that enhances user experience and drives traffic. You will ensure content is visually appealing, on-brand, and strategically aligned with organizational and marketing objectives.
- Develop and execute email marketing campaigns by designing, writing, and scheduling targeted email communications that engage group and leisure visitors. You will analyze performance metrics, audience segmentation, and engagement trends to refine strategies for improved effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze website and email performance by tracking user behavior, traffic patterns, conversion rates, and engagement data. You will identify trends, generate reports, and provide actionable insights to enhance digital marketing efforts.
- Improve user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design by continuously testing and refining site architecture, layout, and accessibility. You will make strategic recommendations to improve mobile responsiveness, navigation, and conversion paths.
- Stay ahead of digital trends and innovations by researching emerging web technologies, email best practices, and SEO strategies, implementing recommendations to improve engagement.
- Ensure website and email compliance by adhering to ADA accessibility guidelines, data privacy laws, and brand standards to maintain a reliable digital presence.
- Update visuals, ads, and itineraries using the CMS (TrueOmni) for our digital kiosks at the Chattanooga Visitor Information Center and other community locations.
- Effectively manage internal and external relationships to collaboratively create and align efforts for a unified brand voice.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director of Content, CMO, CEO, or COO.
Experience you bring to this role is:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in communications, journalism, marketing, or business administration and two years or more of relevant experience in digital marketing/email campaigns/SEO optimization/UX-UI web design OR
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in an unrelated field or a high school diploma/GED and four years or more of relevant experience in digital marketing/email campaigns/SEO optimization/UX-UI web design/CMS. Experience in the travel/tourism/hospitality industry is a bonus.
Physical Requirements*:
- A complete range of motion is required in the position including but not limited to: balancing, carrying, climbing, crawling, grasping/handling/feeling, kneeling, lifting (up to 25 lbs.), listening, pulling or pushing, reaching, running, seeing, sitting, standing, stooping, talking, walking, etc.
- Access to reliable transportation, and if in possession of a motor vehicle, a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance are required.
- Riding in a vehicle and flying in an airplane are required.
Working Environment:

- The typical work environment is an environmentally controlled business office with core business hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm.
