Job Summary:
To develop and grow Chaucer Foods supply chain, to broaden our reach and spread risk of supply across various regions. Identifying suitable suppliers who can or have the capability to meet our commercial and technical requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible in ensuring only approved suppliers are used to source raw materials following the Chaucer Foods supplier approval process.
- Responsible for the Supplier Approval for raw material suppliers in the
- Americas for IQF fruit, vegetables, purees etc.
- Co-manufacturing or co-packing sites
- NPD products used in industrial trials in the Forest Grove facility.
- Providing insight into local trends, market updates and crop performance especially in the regions in development.
- Liaise with potential suppliers in technical matters.
- Support the development of 3rd party manufacturing sites, including approval process and audits.
- Support suppliers in continuous improvement in relation to food safety and quality assurance through audits, complaint investigations and supplier performance reviews.
- Support suppliers in use of Chaucer systems including software relating to approval and assessments.
- Carry out an annual review of raw material supplies technical performance (quality service levels, closing off complaints, due diligence compliance and technical support).
- Support in all activities and projects related to Group Technical and Supply Chain as needed.
- Maintenance of relationship with current suppliers in order to develop and improve current supply base.
Requirements:
- Required educational level or equivalent professional skills: Agronomic or quality training with professional experience of minimum 5 years. English essential with Spanish or French an advantage.
- BRC / FSSC lead auditor qualification – Desired.
- Good working knowledge of dairy/ingredients/puree or fruit industry.
- A knowledge of food ingredients and other additives – Desired.
- Good knowledge of quality management systems, HACCP, etc.
- Competency in Excel, Word, Power Point is necessary.
- Flexibility and adaptability of the schedule (depending on the season), fitness for frequent travel.
