Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Screener to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assessing individuals for various programs and services, ensuring that they receive the appropriate support and resources. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a background in behavioral health, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
Duties
- Conduct initial screenings to evaluate individuals' needs and determine eligibility for programs.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients and encourage open communication.
- Collaborate with social workers and addiction counselors to develop comprehensive support plans.
- Provide crisis management support to individuals in distress, ensuring their immediate safety and well-being.
- Maintain effective communication with community members an/or referring organizations to ensure acceptance and resolution of referrals by the receiving organization or to redirect the referral to another provider when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and assessments while ensuring confidentiality.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance screening techniques and knowledge of behavioral health.
- Position will be required to abide by policies and procedures that support federal, state, and local HIPAA and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse regulations.
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Human Services or related field(Education, Sociology, Psychology)
- Successful experience working in community, healthcare, public health, non profit, or similar operations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques is beneficial for engaging clients effectively.
